The Story

No kitchen should be without the delicate, earthy heat and mild floral aroma of ground white pepper. It's the perfect alternative to black pepper for white or lighter-colored foods like mashed potatoes, cream soups and white sauces. McCormick® Ground White Pepper always starts with the whole berries of the Piper nigrum plant. The berries are picked when ripe and soaked in water to remove the outer husks. The remaining white peppercorn is then dried and ground. Its mild pepper flavor is ideal for seasoning chicken, seafood and pasta, as well as rubs and marinades. The subtle heat of white pepper is preferred in Asian cuisine, where it blends seamlessly with other seasonings in stir-fries, meats and soups.
